The Goldendoodle

The Goldendoodle – sometimes written as Golden Doodle – is a dog created by crossing a Golden Retriever with a Poodle.

The Goldendoodle is known for its gentle, affectionate temperament, high intelligence, and its low-shedding, often hypoallergenic coat.

Perfect as a companion dog for families, children, and people with allergies, the Goldendoodle originated in Australia. The breed is still relatively rare in Italy but very popular in Europe, Switzerland, and the United States.

Hypoallergenic coat

Goldendoodles shed significantly less hair than Golden Retrievers.
For this reason, they are an excellent choice for people who suffer from allergies but still love cuddles and close contact with their dog.

In our breeding program, we focus on F1 and F1b puppies, the two most requested generations.

F1: Direct cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle.

What size is a Goldendoodle?

Goldendoodles come in different sizes to suit every lifestyle:

Mini Goldendoodle (small size)

• Females: 10–12 kg

• Males: 11–14 kg

Medium Goldendoodle

• Females: 12–15 kg

• Males: 14–17 kg
  The most balanced choice for families who want a manageable dog with good presence.

Standard Goldendoodle

• Females: 22–27 kg

• Males: 24–30 kg
  Ideal for those who love larger, sturdier dogs with the same sweet and intelligent temperament.

This variety of sizes allows you to choose the Goldendoodle best suited to your living space. We mainly breed medium and standard-sized dogs.

Can a Goldendoodle live in an apartment, even without a garden?

Yes, as long as certain conditions are met: daily walks, mental stimulation, and regular physical activity.

Even a Standard sized Goldendoodle, a large dog, can live happily in an apartment.

A garden is an advantage, but not essential — a dog is happy when it can go outside every day with the people it loves and receive proper stimulation.

What do F1 / F1b / generations mean?

The Goldendoodle is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle.
Generations indicate how much Poodle genetics are present:

• F1 = 50% Golden Retriever + 50% Poodle
  Reduced shedding, but not zero. Partially hypoallergenic coat.

• F1b = F1 crossed with a Poodle
  Curly coat, very low shedding, more suitable for people with mild allergies.

Many F1b dogs shed very little, but no dog is 100% hypoallergenic.
We recommend a trial meeting for people with allergies.

How long does a Goldendoodle live? Are there any health issues to be aware of?

Average lifespan: 10–15 years, depending on size and care.

Possible hereditary issues:

• hip dysplasia

• eye conditions

Goldendoodle vs Labradoodle: what's the difference?

• Labradoodle = Labrador + Poodle

• Goldendoodle = Golden Retriever + Poodle

They have very similar temperaments, but the Labradoodle tends to be more energetic and sporty, while the Goldendoodle is generally a bit gentler and more affectionate.

Occasionally, we also have Labradoodle puppies available, but we mainly focus on Goldendoodles.

Is there a waiting list to purchase a Goldendoodle puppy?

Yes, puppies are often reserved in advance due to high demand.
